Tata Power has undertaken several initiatives to promote safety at its project locations, for the welfare of its employees as well as the surrounding community. Taking this commitment forward, Tata Power’s Maithon Power limited (MPl), the company’s 74:26 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation, recently observed ‘Road Safety Week’ by organising several awareness programmes and competitions.

The objective of this initiative was to spread awareness and sensitise the Hyva drivers and helpers about different road signs and traffic rules that are essential for safe driving.

The programme organised in collaboration with NGO partner AAKAR, was spread over a week and witnessed activities like poster making, games, quiz competition and street plays.

Speaking on the initiative, K Chandrashekhar, CEO & ED- Maithon Power ltd., said, “Tata Power has always been committed towards safety and has considered it to be as our utmost priority. We at MPl, are happy that through this awareness programme we have been able to educate our employees and workers about road safety. We would like to thank everyone for their effort and support in making this initiative a success. Tata Power will continue to organise such initiatives in the future as well, for the welfare and well-being of our workers and the surrounding community.”

The initiative received huge participation and sensitised more than 500 Hyva drivers and helpers on road safety.
