Tata Power’s Maithon Power limited (MPl), along with Tata Power Trading Company limited (TPTCl) and Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT), built a new campus with State-of-the-art facilities for the students of Upgraded Middle School, Dombhui.

The objective of this initiative is to provide the children with an environment that is conducive to effective education. The new campus has fully-furnished classrooms equipped with all the requisite facilities, storage facilities, separate toilets for boys and girls, solar powered drinking water facility, as well as a playground. In 2015, MPl adopted Dombhui under "Adarsh Gram Yojna" and, since then, has been able to make substantial impact in life of the villagers through developing key Infrastructures in the village.

Speaking at the inauguration, K. Chandrasekhar, CEO and ED, MPl, said, “Education being the primary driver for any community to grow and progress, it has always remained a priority area of intervention for our company. Along with the softer intervention like focus on pedagogy and learning, basic infrastructure viz. proper classrooms, playgrounds and hygienic environment has also been equally important in generating interest of students in education. We, at Tata Power hope this initiative will bring a substantial interest among the students towards education, and that it ,will reflect in academic progress subsequently.”
