National shooter Tara Shahdeo on Friday made a surprise appearance as the chief guest of Ranchi Book Fair and inaugurated the fair at Mahendra Prasad Mahila College amid much fanfare.
Speaking for the first time on a public platform, Shahdeo, who has grabbed international attention in the alleged ‘love-Jehad’ case, said that she would like to share her life experience (about the tyranny she faced with RS Kohli) some day.
“Books have always given me inspiration. I read books in leisure time like when I travel in train. The book written by the famous writer Rhonda Byrne ‘The Secret’ has left a lasting impression on me. I have the book and I have read all the three parts of the series. I use the books as inspiration every time I encounter a problem in life,” Shahdeo said.
“I read the first of the series about three years ago and the three words that still give me inspiration to fight odds in life are ‘Ask, Believe and Achieve’. Books are more useful than Internet as they stay with you without connectivity issues. I do not get network at my shooting range sometimes,” She added.
Addressing women and youths present on the occasion, Shadeo said, “If you are determined to achieve something no one can break you down. Include book reading habit in your lives as it is the only thing that will never leave
your hand.”
On the thought of writing her biography she said, “I have no idea about writing a book but I would like to share my life experience someday”
The Ranchi Book fair will be open for public till September 21 in the day time at Mahendra Prasad Mahila College. Books of various publications and varied streams are available in the fair.
