BJP national president Amit Shah today appointed Boriyo MlA Tala Marandi as the new president of the State unit of BJP. Marandi will replace Koderma MP Ravindra Rai, who has been discharging the duties of State BJP president since March 2013.

Marandi, a BJP legislator from Boriyo legislative constituency of Sahebganj district, is a graduate in commerce and a prominent Santhal leader of the party. His selection for the post is backed by senior leaders of the State, said sources.

CM Raghubar Das, former CM Arjun Munda and senior leaders of the BJP congratulated Marandi for the new assignment and said that he would take the works of the State unit of the party with greater zeal and enthusiasm.

Interestingly, Marandi was not aware of his selection for the post till the time of filing of this report as he was busy working at his village in Boriyo. His aide said that he was on his way to give the good news.
