Suspected ultras of JPC (Jharkhand Parstuti Committee) abducted and killed the Mukhiya Tapeshwar Sao (43) of Sahpur panchayat of Katkamsandi block on Monday late night. Police recovered the dead body of Mukhiya in the wee hours of Tuesday. Five persons have been taken into custody on suspicion by the police.
As per the information recieved, about 15 armed ultras reached to the residence of Mukhiya Tapeshwar Sao on Monday night at around 9pm. They called the Mukhiya and as he came out of his residence they took him with them on gunpoint towards the forest of Chunga Tongri which is about two kilometers away from the Sahpur.
His family members immediately informed Katkamsandi PS about the incident and some of them rushed towards the jungle. When the news came to police headquarters, Hazaribagh, SP Manoj Kaushik sent the rural DSP of Hazaribagh Satish Kumar Jha, town DSP Arvind Kumar Singh and Pelawal OIC Ramashankar Tiwari to Sahpur. The team reached there at about ten and started search operation in the forests along with Katkamsandi police force.
The search operation went on whole night but they failed to trace the Mukhiya and his abductors. In the early morning ofTuesday at about 4:30 they found the dead body of Mukhiya beneath the bushes. They took the dead body in their custody and sent it to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital for postmortem. After postmortem the dead body was handed over to the relatives.
DSP Jha said that they have found a paper near the dead body according to which Jharkhand Bachao Abhiyan has taken the responsibility of Mukhiya's murder. The police think that probably some restricted group or organization has used fake name to disturb the investigation. As per police sources the ultras first shot him in his chest and then smashed his with the help of stones.
DSP said that police has registered a case in Katkamsandi police station and started the investigation of the case. Jha assured that very soon they will solve this case and the culprits will be behind the bars. The talks going on in Katkamsandi block also indicates the involvement of JPC and the villagers are linking this case with the six month old murder case of Mahesh Yadav of Sahpur village. As per the talks Mukhiya Tapeshwar Sao was involved in that murder case and perhaps this murder is retaliation of Mahesh Yadav's murder.
