After various levels of scrutinising by a board of Jury members candidates with clean image would ne named both at the National and State level.
Justice PB Sawant, former Chairman, Press Council of India on Sunday, launched the Jharkhand State People’s Jury (for identification of the people’s-choice candidates for the forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections candidates) online.
The jury in Jharkhand comprises Justice Vikramaditya Prasad, lakshmi Singh (ex-Chief Secretary, Jharkhand) Suhail Anwar (ex-advocate General), Mukhtiyar Singh (retired IAS), Srinivas (Sr. Journalist), Balak Mahato (farmer), Gladson Dungdung (Human Rights activist), RD Singh (ex-Secretary General, FJCCI) and Prof SN Munda.
Addressing the people gathered during the launch of the State jury, National Convenor of Bharatiya Suraaj Manch and retired IPS PK Siddharth said that involvement of money and muscle power during the elections is one of the major hurdles on the way of good governance in the country.
“The Jharkhand State People’s Jury will select ‘People’s Candidate’ for the forthcoming lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state so that the best candidate could be presented before the people,” said Siddhartha.
According to Siddhartha, the Jury will also put a report card of the sitting MPs and MlAs along with the candidates produced by various political parties making proper evaluation of their quality. Those candidates who will not agree to appear before the jury may not get recommendations from it, he added.
The website of Bhatiya Suraj Manch was also launched Justice Vikramaditya having a unique corruption letter box in it on which complaints could be lodged against any politician with required testimonies. A drive will be launched against the politician and efforts will be made so that he is booked for the alleged charges.
To identify the candidates at the block and district level, district and block juries will soon be launched, said Siddhartha. The Jury will also invite bio-data from the people who are willing to contest elections in the coming lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Forms are available on the website www.suraj.org.
One can also suggest one’s name for the candidature and the manch will try to convince him to contest elections and even if he does not agree for it, dharna will be staged before him in a dignified manner, said Siddhartha.
