Hurray! It’s vacation time. Kids falling in the age group of eight to 16 years, waiting to explore something new, here comes the golden opportunity, for all sport enthusiasts.
This summer holidays get ready to indulge yourself in several indoor gaming activities. With bunch of surprises wrapped up this season, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand Government for the first time will organise a summer camp for the students of government schools and private cradles.
From May 21 to June 15, summer camp activities have been scheduled from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Birsa Munda Football Stadium. The Government is in the last lap of preparation and is expecting a good number of participants.
With nine indoor games Chess, Table Tennis, Wushu (Martial Art), Carom, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Karate, Fencing game and Yoga, the first ever mega summer camp will be instigated.
“From providing sport kits, T-shirts, caps to all the participants, the Department of Sports also aims to promote healthy lifestyle among the children. All the participants will get healthy juice at the venue during the refreshment session. Parents have to ensure bus facilities”, said, Director (Sports), Ranendra Kumar.
Children, guardians can download the application forms. Students of class five to standard 10 are eligible for registration. For registration Rs. 500 will be charged from the students studying in private schools while Rs. 50 from students studying at government schools.
Essential documents like birth certificate, documents of school, one passport size and a stamp size photograph with the application form detail can also be submitted directly to the District Sports Officer at Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, Morabadi till May 20 or else can be sent through speed post, couriers.
The summer camp will be inaugurated on May 21 at 9:30 AM.
