A renowned physicist Dr R N Singh, currently serving Sultan Qaboos University at Muscat, has expressed concern over the fact that none of the universities in India boosts a position in the list of top 300 universities in the world.
Dr Singh, who originally hails from Bihar, was invited to the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) campus at Brambe to deliver a lecture on ‘Strategic Planning for Teaching and Research’. The lecture was aimed at promoting interdisciplinary research and dialogue among disciplines. Students and faculty members of the university from diverse disciplines such as humanities, social sciences, applied sciences, engineering and management attended the lecture.
