Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Sukhdeo Bhagat on Tuesday said the party would restore “old prestige through dedication, cooperation and coordination of party leaders and workers”.

He was addressing the party workers and leaders from Kolhan Division on concluding day of three day (division level) conference of workers at Ranchi.

Bhagat said that the party had prepared a roadmap to fight for the cause of people. He informed that the party would organise conferences at block level and booth level to establish direct communication with its workers.

Asked about the commencement of these conferences Congress party spokesperson Shailesh Kumar Sinha said that the party had not decided the dates as yet. “But JPCC Chief will attend the conferences at as much venues as he can,” he said.

Explaining the motive behind the decision Bhagat said “It will instill confidence and enthusiasm in workers and help in strengthening the party at panchayat and booth levels. And the party would benefit from it in election in 2014.”

Bhagat said that the responsibility of forging coalition and forming government in Jharkhand has been given to the central leadership. He also said that the conferences like one that ended today and those planned for future were being organised to materialise the suggestion of Madam Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

Ex-minister and Ranchi MP Subodh Kant Sahay said that everybody should shun any and all internal differences and converge to make preparations for election straightaway from now.

He said that only Congress party could bring development to State.
