AJSU chief Sudeh Mahto while kick starting his ‘Swaraj Swabhiman Yatra’ on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Tuesday from Heslong village, Mandu said that no power can suppress the voice of the people coming right from the grass roots.

Talking about rights and liberties of the common man the former deputy chief minister said that his pubic consultation programme is for that only. “No force can suppress the voice of the common people originating from Chaupals. Their voice is for self-respect and self-pride,” said Mahto. His journey crossed from Royang, Balsagra, Huaag, Toyra, Keribanda and several other villages where party workers and supporters in large number greeted him.

He added that to get rights and self rule from the Government people need to come together and alleged that self respect of the people of the State had been suppressed for long.

“The only purpose of this yatra is that we can decide about the type of governance we need, right here from chaupal,” said Mahto.

First phase of the consultation programme would touch nearly 500 villages of 11 blocks and as many as six Assembly constituencies.

Party MLA Ramchandra Sahis and spokesperson of the party Deosharan Bhagat were present along with several other leaders of AJSU.
