Giving a jolt to Babulal Marandi-led Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, the BJP on Tuesday inducted Amit Mahto into the party fold, getting ready to prepare a tough challenger for AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Two former MlAs — Radha Krishna Kishore (Congress) and Ram Chandra Chandravanshi (RJD), two retired senior IPS officers, Nandu Prasad and Manoj Mishra along with AJSU leader Aroop Chaterjee, also joined the BJP. Amit had given a tough fight to Sudesh in Silli constituency losing the seat by a nominal margin of 7707 votes in 2009 Assembly elections while Kishore earlier represented Chattarpur Assembly seat in Palamau. Both the leaders marched towards the BJP headquarters along with hundreds of supporters dancing to the tunes of traditional 'dhol' and 'nagaras'.
Amit thanking the senior BJP leaders present during the occasion for giving him a chance to join the party, said that it is only the BJP which can bring development in the State and realize the dreams of their forefathers. "Joining the party, I have devoted my life to make dreams and intentions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi true for the State and the country," said Amit.
He added that Jharkhand has not yet seen the desired development as visualized by their forefathers and expected that the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make the dreams of the people true. He said that he will work as a devoted worker of the party.
Kishore, on the other hand, said that after a political career of 33 years, he was feeling happy to join the party as there could be no other platform better than politics for public service and only BJP provides the best platform for it. "BJP is the only party which intends to do public service which has a unique culture, custom and sanctity in it," said Kishore. Only a party having all the three qualities can have democracy in it, he added.
Kishore further added that he will work for the party as a worker and help to remove the misrule which has been continuing in the State. Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda welcoming the new entrants said that their support will bring the State towards a golden era which will compensate the underdevelopment of the last 14 years.
