North Chotanagpur Divisional Commissioner of Surendra Singh Meena on Wednesday asked the officials to prepare a status report of Government land in their respective districts and submit it to his office and to the State Government within a fortnight. This directive was given in a meeting held in Meena’s office on Thursday with the Deputy Commissioners of all the seven districts of the division.

“Jharkhand Government is going to create a land bank and your reports will help the Government to know the land available in every district with just a click of mouse. In this report you will have to give the current status of every piece of government land available in the district,” Meena said. When some DCs said that they have already prepared the report but no objection certificate has yet been given by forest department, Meena told them to procure the certificate as soon as possible.

Regarding renewal of lease land, commissioner Meena directed all the officials to quickly dispose the applications. In North Chotanagpur division applications of renewal of lease of Khasmahal land are pending in large numbers in every district. Meena made it clear to everyone that Government is serious on this issue and told them to take it on priority basis.

Surendra Singh Meena also directed the district officials to speed up the development works going on in the division. Taking the list of pending developmental works seriously Meena directed all the officials to submit a report to his office and to State Government that why projects are late, what amount has been spent yet, whether it is viable or not and what could be done to complete it. He also advised the Deputy Commissioners to look into the matter and to try to remove the hurdles from the path of developmental works.

In this meeting, Commissioner Meena also queried about the status of computerisation of land records in the districts. He also enquired about the status of providing e-service to the citizens. Mukesh Kumar, DC Hazaribagh, said that under NRlM scheme online mutation facility has been started in three blocks and soon four more blocks are going to be added in this facility. After reviewing the status of land record computerisation under NRlM scheme Commissioner Meena directed all the district officials who are lagging behind to complete it within two days and to inform his office.
