In an innovative step to boost e-commerce in the city two graduates of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, XlRI, Ashish Sharma (24) and Rahul Agarwal (24) have launched a website.
Inspired from the e-commerce companies like jabong, Myntra and flipkart, the students have launched www.jsrbazaar.com, which will offer a verity of choice in grocery products, vegetables, cosmetics and much more.
Prabal K Sen, chairperson, Entrepreneurship Development Centre, XlRI and Sharad Sarin, senior faculty member (marketing), XlRI, launched the website on Sunday.
“We have received overwhelming response from the people at the very launch of the website. We have received about 100 calls today which is a great response. Our plan to provide people the best products at a less price. The city has large chunk of population that is service class and relies on online shopping. Our website will fulfill their needs at much ease,” said Ashish Sharma.
He went to inform that the prices of oninions and potatoes are on high. If onion is selling at Rs 28-30 kg in the market, jsrbazaar.com will offer the buyers the same between Rs 20 and 22 and that too fresh. The website has also joined hands with major FMCG companies to offer people the best vegetables and grocery products.
The website will soon have more than 4,000 products to choose from. The website will also offer imported chocolates and exotic vegetables that are not available in Jamshedpur.
The Post Graduate Programme for Certificate in Entrepreneurship Management (PGP-CEM) is a full time 6-month programme in the domain of entrepreneurship management was designed and developed by
Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) of XlRI in 2010 to provide competency-based education to the eligible candidates with a view to promote entrepreneurship in the country.
Congratulating the students Prabal K. Sen said: “Our objective in launching this programme is to generate a breed of entrepreneurs who are equipped with conceptual and operational skills required for running an entrepreneurial venture successfully. We would like the graduates not only to be informed of the bottlenecks likely to be faced by an entrepreneur, but also to be equipped adequately to get over these bottlenecks as and when they encounter the same”.
Meanwhile, Rahul Agarwal said that another factor for the growth of e-commerce in India is the increasing time people spent online. With better lifestyle and increasing buying capacity of people in smaller cities, what matters to them is the choice and availability of products online.
