The students’ wing of AJSU party on Friday organised a massive protest rally and dharna at Vinoba Bhave University headquarter and demanded immediate announcement of the dates of students’ union election.
The State coordinator of AJSU’s students’ wing Rajeev Jaiswal led the rally which started from Hazaribagh Stadium. Students from almost all districts of North Chotanag-pur province gathered in the stadium premises from where the rally started in the noon. After reaching the university premises the leaders and supporters sat on dharna before the VC office. The student leaders blamed the university administration of not taking interest in holding students union elections and demanded to issue the schedule within 15 days.
A group of students met Pro-VC AK Srivastava also after the protest as the VC RN Bhagat was not in the office, and gave him their charter of demand. PVC informed them that the process of election has already been initiated and very soon the dates will be announced.
