On Saturday night a student named Vishal Kumar got injured when he was walking with his friend outside his lodge and a bullet entered into the middle part of his chest. His friends immediately took him to Sadar Hospital from where he was referred to RIMS, Ranchi.

According to his friend Amit Kumar who was also walking with him, both were talking and walking outside their lodge’s room situated in Anandpuri Muhalla of Hazaribagh town when suddenly Vishal cried in pain and fell down with his hands on his chest. Since the wound was bleeding, he along with other friends of the lodge carried Vishal to Sadar Hospital where he was examined and it was found that a bullet has entered in his chest which has damaged his liver.

Amit and other friends said that they neither heard the sound of bullet shot nor saw anyone taking Vishal in target. Vishal Kumar is the son of Gopal Rajak of Pirtand, Giridih, and was preparing for running sports at Hazaribagh. According to friends he was very polite and simple natured youth and as per their information he was neither engaged in any dispute here at Hazaribagh nor at Pirtand.

In Sadar Hospital his friends became angry when doctors referred him to RIMS and in anger broke the window glasses of OPD. later Civil Surgeon Dr. RS Vandana said that since the bullet has damaged his liver so we referred him to RIMS.

The hospital management gave ambulance and petrol to carry him to RIMS because his friends had no money for it.

Hazaribagh police has registered a case in this matter and has started investigation. It is sure that someone has fired the bullet from the nearby area and now police is in search of culprit.

In Anandpuri there are several lodges in which students reside and prima facie it appears that the shot came either from his lodge or adjacent ones.
