Though non teaching staffs of Ranchi University (RU) have called off their strike on Monday itself, work is yet to start. library work and examination departments are laying pending in the want of staffs.

Controller of Examination at Ranchi University Dr KN Thakur said, “It will take couple of days in the situation to settle down and administrative work to back to normal again as the strike was stretched for almost three months.

It is taking time in bringing back the situation normal again.”

He further added, “Due to strike the administration has to face a lot of difficulties.

The situation was such that suggestions were given to delay the semester examination but with the help and full support of our teachers we are able to conduct the examination on time and we are hopping that the staffs resume their work shortly.”

For conducting the session’s final semester examination, the administration had to hire staffs from outside.

Which has increased the cost up to Rs25,000, more over the work load on the teachers is doubled. So at this point of time end of non teaching staffs’ strike could have been a big relief but the situation is not yet to improve.

Associated Professor of Botany and Head of the Department, Dr Rajesh Kumar Jha said, “In this examination period the works such as arrangement of sitting pattern of the students, arranging of answer seats according to the roll order are now fallen on our shoulders.”

He further adds that “It is a summer vacation month many teachers are on leave so our work load is three times increased in this situation after strike called off many non teachings staffs have not resumed their services so it is expected than in the coming few days our problem will be sorted down”.
