Street march for slain MSc student in Daltonganj

Former Congress MlA K N Tripathy as per his pre scheduled stir hit the streets of Daltonganj with hundreds of his supporters and commoners on Thursday and handed down a memorandum to the divisional commissioner PalamuRajeev Arun Ekka

Tripathy said the memorandum is addressed to the chief minister Jharkhand.

He said he has raised three pertinent issues. First to arrest the killers of Chandan Singh an M Sc Physics student. Second to fix the responsibility of the police officer/investigating officer who has failed to arrest the killer despite murder of Chandan Singh being committed on the intervening night of November 11/12 .

The third is most vital as he said ' I have urged the chief minister to see how the police are hobnobbing with the criminals here and why this case has been so lackadaisically handled by the police here.

The case in brief is this M SC student Chandan Singh was kidnapped on November 11 and the next day his highly tortured and brutalized body was found on the heap of coal in a wagon of a goods train in Bihar's Sasaram.which the GRP SAsaram recovered, waited for 72 hours and then declaring this body as un identified cremated as there was OM written on one of his hands.

Tripathy said his murder has frightened many student leaders here who are in two minds to contest the coming NPU students union election. He said some student leaders who were too eager to contest are having a re thinking.  He said this fear psychosis among the college going students is highly distressing for the society and the state and its chief minister must take suitable steps to build confidence of people in the rule of law here in Daltonganj.

He said on November 16 Palamu had a bandh over this incident of Chandan Singh and now two weeks are gone the killers are at large.
