Stray animals menace on Dhanbad roads

Published on:

People  of here are exposed to risks  owing rising numbers of stray dogs and bulls on city road.

Interestingly,  the Dhanbad Municipal Authorities (DMC) authorities  that have responsibility to remove them remain blindfolded though a huge force of  city managers  and officers are there who criss- cross city roads  on daily  basis.

Be it bulls or dogs the number of such animals on roads has increases many a fold with  news of  pedistians  and two wheeler drivers either  bitten by  stray dog's  or  hit by bulls  .

Be it Randhir Verma square, city centre, Hirapur hatia, steel gate , Bartand , Kartas bazar  or any busy  location one can spot  both in numbers.

Recently a school student was attacked by a herd  of stray dogs while she was returning home from school .She had too be admitted at SNMCH   with numerous bites.

Records at SNMCH suggest that in last three months about a thousand persons reached hospital  for anti rabise injection .This number is in addition to those who take the  this injection in private at medical stores.

Bulls of huge sizes can be seen roaming around city roads and often  hit people from behind for want of food at different locations. Number of them can be seen at Randhir Verma square though it's one of the most busy spots and is not far away from offices of either deputy commissioner or DMC CEO.

DMC has failed in containing both  issues as it  lacks  facilities of kanji house for keeping stray cattle.

On starlizing stray dogs front too the authorities have failed as number of stray dogs has increased though DMC authorities claim that have a dog catcher square in operation . DMC has no figure available the numbers of dogs starlized just ahead of the breading season.

Dr AK Singh a government AHD doctor said, it's breading season of dogs thus change in behaviour can be witnesses and may be one of the reasons of rising dog bites in this season.'

Steization of stray dogs is only way to check rising numbers of stray dogs in city area, be said.
