The stone mafia of Ichak area attacked on the members of special task force team constituted by district administration to demolish the illegal stone crusher machines and associated structures. One staff of mines department and three police jawans got injuries in this attack.

On Thursday morning at about 11 am the team led by SDO Rajeev Ranjan reached Ichak More where there are many stone crushers. BDO Ichak, officials of mining department and jawans of Ichak PS along with their OIC were in the team. The team started demolishing the illegal stone crusher machine and the associated structures there. After demolishing two illegal crushers as the team moved towards the third outfit suddenly the miscreants, mixed in the crowd of villagers, started throwing stones on the team members.

Three police jawans got injured while a staff of mining department Narayan Ram who was trying to escape from the spot was caught by the miscreants and was badly beaten. The policemen tried to disperse the crowd and in this attempt some innocent villagers were beaten by lathis and then the area of Ichak More which is on NH33 turned into a battleground for about an hour. Meanwhile more police force came to assist the special task force and then the situation was controlled.

The supporters of illegal crusher machine runners said that the district administration has done wrong because they have not issued any notice to the owners of these machines before starting such a harsh step. Hundreds of people are earning their livelihood through these crushers and today when they saw bulldozers demolishing the crushers they took it as an attempt to snatch their bread and in anger they retaliated.

On the other hand district administration made it clear that there was no need to issue notices to them because First Information Reports had been already lodged against the crusher owners and they are absconding. After today's incident fresh case has been registered in Ichak PS in which there are accused both named and unnamed.
