Officials of the Palamu tiger reserve  finally retrieved one tusk of a big jumbo which was stolen on July 29. According to DFO buffer Anil K Mishra, the jumbo had died due to natural death.  Mishra said following the stealing of a tusk the incident was branded as task of poaching. A search was on since that day.

The police and the CRPF conducted house to house search at two villages — latoo and Kujroom. The tiger reserve officials got a tip off about the tusk being kept beneath water at Bhuthat which is away from Kujroom. The recovery of the tusk has come as a boost to the highly depressed officials  following the stealing of the tusk way back on 29th July, 2014. Mishra said that the water of the pond was pumped out in order to take out the tusk which was hidden in a bag.
