Five-time MlA and current JMM legislator from Maheshpur Stephen Marandi has been selected for the Excellent MlA award for the year 2016-17. The seasoned leader would be presented the award in a ceremony on Tuesday when the Assembly is celebrating its foundation day.
2nd Supplementary Budget passed
The Assembly passed by voice vote the 2nd Supplementary Budget of `3010.86 crore on Monday. After two back to back adjournments amid Opposition din Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy proposed for passage of the Finance Bill meant for that. No debate over the Budget could take place due to persistent pandemonium. Highest share amounting `425 crore would go to the Energy Department to meet the resource gap existing there.
