Steel city gears-up for the New Year celebrations; security has been intensified on all the picnic spots while police gear up for cracking down on drunk drivers and to handle the massive crowd.
Cops, both uniformed and plain-clothed are deployed on the hot-spots including picnic spots like City Park, Garga Dam, Hathiya Pather, Tenughat Dam, lalpaniya and several others. Police on duty have been asked to take immediate action against the offenders, said a police official, adding “We are taking a zero tolerance stance to eve-teasers and molesters”.
On the direction of higher-ups high alert has been declared in Dhanbad and Bokaro districts. Cops are instructed to tackle all the adverse situations and keep strong security arrangements. Patrolling has been intensified to avert any untoward incidents in the duo district, said DSP Bokaro.
More than 20 spots were identified as the most sensitive place only in Bokaro and cops were asked to keep special attention. Within a short span of time we can tackle any adverse situation, said the official.
Meanwhile, all the major hotels, clubs in the city have geared up to meet the needs of party animals with Rocking DJs, celebrity dances, stag parties and even fireworks to welcome the new year.
