Ranchi District Scheduled Tribes Development Council (STDC) has directed all departments working for the development STs to speed up the development plans already on the paper. The Council which was formed in February last year decided to take a number of steps related to development of STs in its first meeting on Saturday.
With DC as President, Project Director ITDA as Secretary and Ranchi MP Ramtahal Choudhary, Khunti MP Karia Munda, lohardaga MP Sudarshan Bhagat and all the MlAs of the district as members, the Council decided to have a better coordination with District Planning Council and other district level committees, which included getting applications from them and issue advisories as and when required.
It was also directed to make visits to Tribal schools, Ashram schools and Eklavya Schools at regular intervals and submit reports. Delay in distribution of pre-metric/post metric scholarships to ST students was also a point of discussion in the meeting.
