Despite the State Government’s resolve to eradicate child labour, eliminating the menace remains a distant dream in Jharkhand. According to CRY report, more than five lakh population of below 18 years are working as mechanics, domestic help, daily-wage labourers, coal-pickers and rag-pickers in the State, according to a survey.The official figures, however, put the number at 2.37 lakh.
