Keeping in view the direction of Election Commission of India with regard to increasing voter’s participation in General Election-2014, a massive voter awareness programme is being run across Jharkhand.
As part of the awareness campaign, street plays, traditional dance, rally, human chain, etc is being organised in different parts of the State. The campaign’s main objective is to aware voters about exercising their franchise. Interestingly, the commission has directed officials to identify pockets where voter turnout was low in last elections and run special campaigns in those areas. The commission also directed the officials to apprise people of the importance of voting besides requesting them to exercise their right to vote without any fear.
