During the launch programme of development schemes worth Rs 16,853 crore in Deoghar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the development schemes which have been inaugurated and laid the foundation stone today will definitely give a new direction to the development of the state. These schemes will prove to be a milestone for Jharkhand.

The CM said that roads play an important role in development. Be it road connectivity or air or waterways. The faster this connectivity increases, the faster the development of the state will be. The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the Sahibganj waterway.

The Chief Minister said that the dream we see and when it comes true, we get a lot of happiness. Today the dream of starting an airline from Deoghar airport is coming true. But, we should not forget that labourers have contributed significantly in its construction. The Chief Minister said that 300 ryyats have given their land for the construction of Deoghar airport. We thank all those who have been displaced because of this and today when this airport is being dedicated to the nation.

The CM said that Jharkhand has played an important role in the development of the country since its inception. Along with minerals, the labourers here are creating a new scale of development in different parts of the country due to their hard work and service. If there is support from the Central government, then in the next 5 to 7 years, the government will fulfill the dream of including Jharkhand among the leading states of the country.

Governor Ramesh Bais presented a Rudraksh garland and a book to the Prime Minister on the occasion. The Chief Minister honoured the Prime Minister by giving him a model form of Baba Vaidyanath Temple.

Baba Baidyanath Dham is an important religious destination for devotees from all over the country and thousands visit the Hindu pilgrimage site every day. The average footfall increases dramatically during the month of Sawan, believed to be the month of Lord Shiva in Hinduism.

With Shravani Mela kicking off next week, the airport will help thousands of devotees coming to Deoghar from across the nation to offer prayers at Baba Baidyanath Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
