The three-day Jharkhand International Film Festival will be organised in the State Capital from February 23 to 25 attended by eminent personalities associated with the film industry in the country. The decision was taken by the organising committee members during a meeting held on Wednesday at Chamber Bhavan.
During the meeting it was decided that eminent film personalities including Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Manoj Bajpeyi,Tigmanshu Dhulia, Prakash Jha, Shreyash Talpade, Jishan Quadri, David Dhawan, Konkna Sen Sharma, Nandita Das, Yashpal Sharma, Ravikishan have given their pre consent to attend the festival as Jury members. Five foreign films will be selected for Award and Foreign directors alongwith Indian directors will interact with Mass commmunication students during the event.
The committee will request Chief Minister Raghubar Das to Inaugurate the mega Event on February 23 and during the award ceremony on February 25, Amitabh Bachhan, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra will be invited. Mails regarding it have already sent for their consent.Jharkhand regional film ators, directors and makers will be rewarded in cash prizes alongwith those films shot in Jharkhand. local talents will also be awarded.
As many as 50 Films will be exhibited during the fest alongwith 10 Jharkhand language films which got Censor Board certification. The website www.jiffaward.com will provide all the details of the mega show.More than 15 National and International Film legends will stay at film festival.
Film Nazar will be organised for Jharkhand regional films. And, students making short films, documentary, music albums and animation films will be awarded too.
The primary focus of the event is to explore Jharkhand Art culture cinema world-wide. Chairperson of the organising committee Dr Steffy Teresa Murmu, Vice president Madhu Chopra aongwith Shiv kumar, Rishi Prakash Mishra, The Pioneer, Ranchi Edition MD Pawan Bajaj, Anand Jalan, Mahesh Manjhi, Bulu Ghosh, Shekhar Kushwaha, Dr BN Singh, Uday Sahu, Sanjeev Verma were present in the meeting. Navbharat Nirman Sangh, an NGO is the main body for the event.
