Jharkhand Government will be hosting the All India Inter-District Junior Athletics Championships from January 17 to 19 at Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar. As many as 240 districts of the nation have confirmed their participation here.
Sources said that this would be the second time that Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has selected Ranchi for organizing similar tournament. Notably, on November 10 AFI President Adille J Sumariwalla had announced about this venue preference decision during the opening ceremony of three-day 2nd South Asian Federation (SAF) Junior Athletics Championships at Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium.
He mentioned that they are impressed with the world class sports infrastructure of Ranchi and seek to conduct many national and international sports meets.
