ED (Works), Bokaro Steel Plant, Atanu Bhowmik inaugurated the newly renovated Environmental Laboratory of Bokaro Steel Plant. The laboratory is equipped with latest technologies and facilities required for Environmental parameter monitoring of various units of Plant including Effluent parameters monitoring, Stack emission monitoring, Work zone Air Quality Monitoring and noise monitoring as per the latest guidelines of MoEFCC. The laboratory will also cater to the Environmental Monitoring requirements of Township & Bokaro General Hospital. The laboratory is having the facility to monitor various parameters of drinking water and is equipped with latest State of the Art technologies such as Spectrophotometer, Stack Emission kits, Gas Analyzers, BOD Incubators & Work-zone Air Quality Monitors.
The laboratory is 5S & ISO 14001 certified. BSL has applied for the JSPCB accreditation for which inspection of laboratory was also carried out by the Regional Officer, Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, RN Chowdhary on 15th Jan’22. On this occasion, ED (W) lauded the efforts of Environmental Control Department team in the renovation of Laboratory under the leadership of NP Srivastava GM, Environment. Active support was also received from CED for renovation of the Environmental Laboratory. CGM (Services) Sanjay Kumar, CGM (CRM-III) Rajan Prasad, CGM (CED) Shaligram Singh were also present during the inauguration.
