Marandi added further, “The players can make their career. The State Govt is all devoted to encourage the games and sports. Govt has established Sports University for this. All the technical information would be made available. lohardaga district has made a distinguished status in field of sports. The athlete meet has been organising by 62 years. As an in-charge minister, it’s my duty to encourage games and solve problems of the people.” “The stadium would be renovated.
The matter of its renovation is going to the court now. It will be my priority that after decision of the court, the renovation work would be completed.” She also appreciated efforts of Sahu family. Sanjay Sahu said, “In lohardaga, the athlete meet has been organised since 1951. Our cooperation will always be made for this meet.”
A sports magazine Smiriti was unveiled by welfare minister. lohardaga remained champion in male group and Mandar in female group. Most attractive events in this meet were 15 km road race and 24 km cycle race. In 15 km road race Sandeep Toppo lohardaga got first and Hridayeshwar Mahto lohardaga remained first in cycle race.
