The website, launched by Jharkhand Employment Exchange www.jharkhandemployment.nic on January 13 is yet to register new employers for recruitment.
None of the companies have registered so far. So, the officials related to this website are planning to conduct workshops wherein companies can know about the website. "The website is presently at a nascent stage. Prior to the launch of this website, the database of old companies who were already registered with us in our office have been entered here. But, it seems new companies are not aware about this website. We will soon submit a proposal to the Principal Secretary of Department of labour, Employment and Training on organising awakening consultation in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Dumka since majority of employers hail from these districts," a senior officer of Department of labour, Employment and Training on the condition of anonymity said.
Unlike job portals like monster.com and naukri.com, the government job portal does not charge money from the registered companies (better known as employers) and candidates. The website is jointly developed by National Informatics Centre (nic) and JAP-IT. Ashish Prasad, managing the Help Desk of this webpage said, "As many as 1364 candidates across the state have registered on our website of which 309, probably the majority are from Ranchi and then 286 are from Jamshedpur. Most of them are highly qualified like post graduates."
Both candidates and employers have to register themselves on this website with a valid email ID and password. The only difference is that candidates are given an option to submit their scanned educational documents. "After registration, the companies will have to submit a proof of their existence for verification by post or through representative at our headquarters in Ranchi. Then only, we will send suitable vacant positions of the respective verified private companies to the profile of registered candidates," Prasad added.
However, Assistant Director SB Jha of the website assured that it will take a month to settle this communication gap and provide prompt jobs to the registered candidates according to their eligibility and preference.
