Ranchi University (RU) has recently received a budget of Rs1,515 crores for session 2013-14 from the State Government for its overall development.
The budget includes Rs3 crores for establishing one model college in 12 backward districts, Rs6 crores for grant in aid to university, Rs1 crore for self finance colleges running without money, Rs90 lakhs for free education to girls, Rs25 lakhs for distance learning education, Rs1 crore for science and technology research, Rs2 crores for modernization of libraries and post graduate departments and Rs1 crore for upgradation of laboratories in all the colleges of RU.
RU Registrar Dr Amar Kumar Choudhary said, “We will soon work out for implementation of these financial funds. The fund for teaching and non-teaching is yet to be released by the State Government.”
It is to be noticed RU had been requesting for this amount to the Government since a long time.
