In last couple of years Jharkhand witnessed scores of incidents related on crime against women. Seeing the alarming crime rate the State administration have decided to take strong measures on safety of women in city though various plans have been made for this course like introducing of pink autos, increasing the number of Shakti Vahan, upgrading the mobile police patrolling by giving them a uniform identity but these plans are still in pipeline and need more time for its execution.
When city SP Manoj Ratan asked for the reason of delay in execution of these plans, he said, “We have tighten our belts there was a meeting on Monday where it has been discussed with the police head that lots of complains have been heard against Mahila helpline that they delay in filing a report of the victim so from now onwards report has to be filed then and there only without considering that the case will fall under which police station.”
When asked that Dhandad has launched six city buses for women for their safety note is there is any plan of launching such buses in Ranchi city too on this he said, “We are waiting for the feedback from Dhanbad police if we find positive result and get ensure that it is actually helping in women safety then definitely we will plan to launch such buses in Ranchi too”.
He added that “The work on providing uniform identity to mobile patrolling are on the verge of completion and we will start realising it soon even we are trying to increase the number of Shakti Vahan”
About launching of pink auto he said, I have no idea about it will take with the State authority about it and if there is any such plan then
will see to it”.
