The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Jharkhand rose to 5,582 including 2,785 active cases, said |the State Health Department on Sunday. A total of 2,718 have been recovered/discharged, and 49 deaths, informed the health department.
On Sunday 152 positive cases were detected from across the State while at the same time 62 persons were discharged from hospital after recovery from infection.
One person from Hazaribagh died due to infection. Out of 152 cases, 25 cases were detected from East Singhbhum and Lohardaga district respectively, 26 cases were detected from Hazaribagh district. From State Capital 32 cases were detected but at the same time 22 persons recovered from infection.
The infection has reached police stations, Government offices and even paramilitary personnel too are infected with disease. Among the infected districts, East Singhbhum tops with 830 cases of Covid 19, followed by Ranchi with 727 cases of coronavirus. Godda in Santhal Pargana has the least number of Covid 19 cases.
Meanwhile, the doctor treating prisoners at Ramgarh jail has-been found to be corona positive. On Sunday, he was admitted at Covid-19 hospital. Before the doctor’s report came, he had treated 14 prisoners at Ramgarh Jail. After the doctor’s report came positive, there was chaos among jail inmates. All 14 prisoners who had undergone treatment from the doctor have been quarantined. The Ramgarh district administration will send the report to the jail IG.
Moreover, the pandemic has reached rural areas too. In Ghaghra block of Gumla district, a corona positive patient was found. People at Ghaghra block are in panic after the 37-year-old jawan who returned from Delhi was found corona infected. After returning from Delhi he gave his sample at the Ghaghra Community Health Centre where his report was found positive. The ITBP jawan was admitted to the isolation ward at Ghaghra Community Health Centre.
The infection has spread across the State. The number of patients infected with corona has increased to 51 with 13 new positive cases at Barkatha in Hazaribagh district. On Sunday, 13 corona positive cases have come together and there has been panic among administrative officials. The administration became active as soon as the report came on Sunday morning. As cases of Covid-19 are increasing day by day the Jharkhand recovery rate too has dropped. The State recovery rate is 48.95 per cent while the national recovery rate is 63.02 per cent.
