Against the target of Rs 2375 crore collection of Rs 2570 crore has been made of which Rs  459.70 crore is in the form of individual taxes paid,” said the official in an informal chat and named coal PSU CCl as the biggest tax contributor from Jharkhand. For this financial year the tax collection target has been set in the tune of Rs  2800 crore.

He also shared latest information about searches and raids conducted against the violators. “Since June 20, we have come across 14 cases from the State where most of the cases have come from Dhanbad (7) followed by Jamshedpur and Ranchi. Demands against the estimates have been raised,” added Suri reading out names of the defaulters.

The Chief IT Commissioner said that surveys at five premises of businessman KK Morarka are going on at present in Ranchi. “We have come cross information and surveys are continuing even now at SK Fabric of Ratu Road, Shiv Chand Rai Krishna Kumar, Ujjwal Fabrics, SK Fashion and Bedsheet Exclusive, all at Upper Bazar. The proprietor was in Ahmadabad who has just arrived this afternoon. The surveys are still on,” he said.

The official at the same time also issued warning to tax evaders. “We were holding surveys and searches a bit in the wake of GST roll out and wanted to give them some time to settle things. Now the phase is over and we would be going full fledged with fair play. The taxpayers have had three opportunities, including IDS to disclose their unaccounted income,” he said.
