State BJP chief taunts Opposition unity meet in Patna

Published on:

State BJP president and  Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash on Thursday attacked fifteen parties' opposition unity meeting in Patna terming it as coming together of corrupt and dynastic parties. The BJP leader also snubbed State Chief Minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren for sitting on the lap of those who had opposed the creation of a separate state (Jharkhand) in the nineties.

Prakash claimed that the participation of Congress scion Rahul Gandhi in the meeting of the opposition proves that Congress alone cannot compete with the aura and popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and world’s biggest political party--Bharatiya Janata Party. Taunting the Congress leadership, the State BJP said that how ironic it is that the oldest party of the country(Congress) has to bow down before the regional parties today.

He said the opposition parties should tell who is their leader? Tell me under whose leadership they will contest the elections! Our leader is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said all opposition leaders have come on one platform. “They want to give a message that they will challenge BJP and Modi. No matter how many hands you shake, you cannot come together. Even if he comes, it is certain that Modi will come with more than 300 seats in 2024.” Prakash said.

He said that all the opposition parties that have gathered in Patna today have only one objective to save corruption and the corrupt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are on bail in corruption cases. Who does not know the scams of Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Lalu is a convicted criminal. In the Mamta Banerjee government, crime and corruption is at its peak. DMK is known for corruption. Many ministers of Kejriwal are behind the bars. Corruption is at its peak in Punjab as well.

He said the party which had imposed emergency on the country, put the entire opposition in jail, violated the rights of the people, robbed the rights of the press, today those people who opposed the Congress in the JP movement are joining hands with the same party. The Bjp leader said that it is not for the first time that these parties have come together as on earlier occasions too they have joined hands. The BJp chief gave the example of SP Akhilesh, Congress fighting together against BJP in UP, Mamata and his nephew Abhishek Banerjee fighting against BJP in Bengal, DMP against BJP in Tamil Nadu, NCP against BJP in Maharashtra.

They had fought together earlier also, they are fighting even now but Modi ji will get more than 300 seats. He said Kejriwal is asking Congress to leave Delhi and Punjab, Mamata Didi is saying to leave Bengal, Nitish-Lalu is saying. - Leave Bihar, Akhilesh is saying - Leave UP, Hemant Soren is saying - Leave Jharkhand, DMK is saying - Leave Tamil Nadu.

He said they may fight the elections unitedly, but how will they challenge the people's mandate? In the 2019 elections, BJP got more than 50 percent votes in about 224 seats. Additionally, in 31 seats, the votes polled by the BJP were more than the total votes polled by the second and third place candidates. This means that out of 302 seats won by the BJP, there was no contest on 255 seats. Meaning, no matter how they fight, their victory is not possible.
