n Addressing an online meeting on Sunday, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Chief Rameshwar Oraon instructed the party workers to start a door-to-door campaign to ensure the maximum number of people could join the party under its ongoing membership drive.
Oraon said that a missed call can lead to fraud in making a member therefore, all the leaders and workers of the party should go from house to house and organise camps and make people the members of the party.
“With this, not only people will become members, but they will also get cooperation money in the party fund, and even those who give Rs five will vote for the Congress in the elections. Therefore, there is a need to be completely transparent and honest in the membership campaign,” he added.
In this online meeting, JPCC Membership In-Charge, Alok Kumar Dubey, JPCC Spokesperson, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo and Rajesh Gupta were also present.
The JPCC Chief said that Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had also advised to be honest in the membership campaign during his time and had directed the party leaders to avoid creating a large army by making bogus members. “This campaign can be successful only with the efforts of everyone. Now one year is left and a target has been set to make 15 lakh members in the State.
The work of the membership campaign was hampered during the Corona period, but once again this entire campaign has to be run vigorously. Dubey was responsible for speeding up the membership drive last time also and this time also he has been entrusted with this responsibility. With everyone's cooperation, this goal has to be accomplished,” he added.
“All the district presidents, in-charges and leaders-workers of the party are associated with the commitment of the organisation and the ideas of the Congress party, so whenever the difficult moment comes, everyone gets united. Under the guidance of Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, various programmes are being organised by the party to strengthen secular forces and maintain social harmony. During the membership campaign, the leaders and workers who have done better work will be given a certificate of appreciation from the National President, such a letter has a lot of political significance,” said Oraon.
