Delay in payments to MGNREGA labourers cannot be tolerated as the objective could not be fulfilled due to delay. The aforementioned statement was made by Chief Secretary RS Sharma while addressing the review meeting of Rural Development Department.
CS instructed the officials to ensure quick payment of MGNREGA labour charges through direct benefit transfer. Sharma instructed MGNREGA Commissioner to examine delay in payment.
CS also instructed the officials to expedite linking of MGNREGA job cards with Aadhaar and using Rojgar Sevaks to procure job card number and Aadhaar number besides assigning targets for collecting numbers within a specified time frame.
