Curtains came down on a Special Holiday Camp organised at Tata Football Academy (TFA). Farzan R Heerjee, chief of Tata Steel’s guest relations and sports was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed the certificate of participation to the children.

Apart from training, children were also provided inputs by experts on subjects such as prevention of injuries, laws of the game, yoga and meditation, and personality development. The participants also visited places like Tata Steel Zoological Park, Amusement Park, Dimna lake and Centre for Excellence. The camp was inaugurated by Uttam Singh Mundy, Director, PGTI on December 18.

TFA supplements efforts to improve the standard of Indian football by developing youngsters in the age group of fourteen years, and injecting fresh talent into the nation’s premier spectator sport. Jamshedpur with a population of a million and more people can develop an efficient supply chain of talent. TFA, conceived in 1983 and inaugurated in 1987, is but one intrinsic component of the Tata Ideal manifested in reality. TFA in it’s first decade of existence, amply proved that systematic training, at the right age in a proper ambience, pays rich dividends. The juniors of TFA achieved a string of impressive victories against reputed national and international teams in this short period.
