Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon on Tuesday said that the legislators should make a joint effort to improve the esteem of legislature. Oraon was holding a meeting of Chairpersons and members of the newly formed Committees for the year 2017-18 at Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday.
“We should try to improve the esteem of legislature though joint efforts,” said Oraon. The chairpersons during the meeting made the Speaker aware about their feelings for making committees more effective and strong, he added.
Chairperson of Environment and Pollution Control Committee Ashok Kumar said that cells must be formed to dispose of the matters related to department level committee while Chairperson of Estimate Committee Nirbahay Shahbadi suggested site study for the Chairpersons and Members outside the state along with senior officers of Assembly Secretariat.
Discussion also took place regarding directions given with respect to the tabling of action taken report on the proposals made by the members and Chairpersons and also on the issue of senior officials taking part in it. Members stressed on action within six months of the recommendations made by the committees.
later in the meeting of Committee members, Speaker asked them to take part in the meetings and also to build coordination between the committees. Discussion also took place on issue of including members from districts as special guests during the site visit inside the state, to review the reports submitted after the formation of State and also to submit report of site visit within 30 days.
