Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Nath Mahato today addressed the students at the annual event of the National University of Study and Research of Law. During this, Mahato was present as the chief guest in the Policy Making Competition _ Kautilya organized by the University.

Addressing the students, Mahato said that law is actually based on common sense. When this common sense is accepted in social practice, then it takes the form of law. He told the students that as a law student they should always be logical. No decision is final and that decision changes with time. Mahato also discussed the statement given by Dr. Ambedkar in the Constituent Assembly. In the speech in which Dr. Ambedkar said that as a lawyer he has always told the presiding judge that he is bound to accept his decision but not necessarily to respect his decision. A lawyer is given freedom and he can never give up this freedom. NUSRL Vice Chancellor Dr. Keshava Rao Varakula was also present in the programme.
