Soren dares CM to show proof of better governance

Published on:

leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly, Hemant Soren on Saturday challenged Chief Minister Raghubar Das to prove his Government better than all previous ones and alleged that the incumbent Government was more inclined towards reshuffling bureaucracy than fulfilling promises of job, introducing policies to address various issues of significance for people of Jharkhand.

As the incumbent Government completed six-month on June 28, the former CM recounted promises made by Das on filling vacancies, no headway on domicile policy, mining leases and the series of agreements made by the Bhartiya Janta Party-led Government with corporates. Soren dared Das to compare the number of transfer-posting made in the first six-month of respective governments.

“Transfer-posting has not happened in last 14-year the way it has happened in six-month. CM had promised during Dumka visit that all vacancies will be filled in six months but that did not happen. This government promised to frame domicile policy in two months however it is yet to frame one. They are playing with the sentiments of the people of the state. In my view tenure of this government is a dark chapter,” said Soren.

The Soren-scion accused the BJP of making a U-turn on the issue of sand and price rise of the building material in the backdrop of auctioning balu-ghats to private players. The BJP while in opposition had strongly condemned the then government of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for taking away the rights of gram sabha on minor minerals with the concern that the monopoly in supply would fuel profiteering due to arbitrary rise in the price.

“This party (BJP) was clamouring over the price of sand but prices are at all time high when this party is in government,” added Soren. Soren, an MlA from Barhait, raised law and order issues, expressed reservations about land acquisition act, tried to take sheen off the success in naxal operations and shutting down schemes started by JMM government.
