In a tragic incident, a son (32) killed his 70-year-old father with sharp-edged weapon under Kasmar police station in Bokaro district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Birbal Mahato, a resident of Tatertand, Baraikela panchayat of Kasmar block.
According to the police, Mahanand Mahato killed his father after a heated argument over property. “Both had a heated argument over a property and the son attacked his father with an axe and killed him,” said OC of Kasmar police station.
After killing his father Mahanand attacked his two sisters but later his younger brother Niranjan along with the help of neighbours caught Mahanand and tied him with a tree, said locals.
“later we rushed to the local hospital where doctors declared Birbal brought dead,” said a villager.
Police have arrested Mahanad and a case has been registered against him under Section 302 of the IPC.
