Socio-economic development top priority: Chief Secretary

Published on:

Chief Secretary RS Sharma on Thursday said that State’s socio-economic development was top priority and no excuse on this count would be tolerated.

He also called for seriousness about road construction and other infrastructure fields in a meeting with DVC and CCl over construction of Chandrapura- Phusro road. It may be mentioned that the proposed road was to be constructed jointly by the DVC and CCl. However the DVC has expressed its inability to finance the construction of road.

At the meeting, Road Construction Department Principal Secretary Rajbala Verma said that the road was being constructed for transportation coal. The DVC should make efforts to finance the project so that it could be completed within the time limit. The Chief Secretary said both the DVC and CCl had fully responsibility to complete the project as they were going to be owner and also accrue profit out of it.
