Social media platforms have come under the scanner as authorities intensify monitoring ahead of Holi and Ramzan. Concerned about the potential spread of misinformation and communal unrest, the district administration has urged citizens to exercise caution while sharing content online. To ensure law and order, a central control room at Sakchi police station will remain operational, facilitating real-time surveillance of digital activities.

In anticipation of the upcoming festivals, District Magistrate Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal convened a district-level peace committee meeting at Town Hall, Sidgora. The meeting aimed to uphold communal harmony and ensure peaceful celebrations across East Singhbhum. Representatives from various community groups, administrative officials, and law enforcement officers attended to discuss security measures and address concerns raised by committee members.

To maintain law and order during the festivities, the district administration has set up 13 super zones, each managed by designated administrative officers and police officials. Block Development Officers and Circle Officers have been directed to ensure that healthcare facilities operate seamlessly, with 24/7 ambulance services and an adequate supply of essential medicines.

During the meeting, the district magistrate assured committee members that grievances related to public services would be addressed promptly. He urged the youth to avoid forwarding misleading or fake news that could incite unrest. Stringent security measures will be implemented, with officials stationed at key locations to prevent disturbances. Stressing responsible social media use, he warned against the spread of unverified information and instructed food safety officers to monitor the quality of sweets and colors sold in the market. Additionally, the excise department has been tasked with cracking down on illegal liquor sales.

The senior superintendent of police elaborated on the comprehensive security arrangements for the festivals. Adequate police forces will be deployed across the district, particularly at sensitive religious sites and public areas. Static and mobile surveillance teams will be active, while social media activity will be monitored round the clock to curb the circulation of inflammatory content. Citizens have been urged to celebrate responsibly, refraining from forceful application of colors and avoiding provocative songs that could disturb public sentiment. Special warnings have been issued against drunk driving, with strict legal consequences for violators.

Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Aniket Sachan confirmed that Holi will be observed as a dry day, prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcohol. He advised residents to verify any suspicious messages with local authorities before sharing them on social media. Peace committee members were also urged to assist in spreading awareness and ensuring law and order during the celebrations.

The meeting saw the participation of Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shatabdi Majumdar, Rural Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg, Urban Superintendent of Police Kumar Shivashish, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee Krishna Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon, along with all Block Development Officers, Circle Officers, Deputy Superintendents of Police, and station in-charges.
