Smaller, regional parties ridicule exit poll

With exit poll predicting a thumping victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), some smaller and regional political parties, according to exit poll, reacted harshly and said that all are pre- planed.

Reacting on the exit poll, State Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), General Secretary and Spokesperson, Kailash Yadav said that exit poll is organised and fake. “All the news channels showed that the BJP will form Government at the Centre but I am asking that how many times in the past exit polls had shown actual results. If someone tries to know, then he can easily find that always exit poll shows fabricated results,” he added.

Hitting hard on results shown by some news channels through exit polls, Yadav said that in Uttar Pradesh some channels showed that BJP is getting 58 per cent of total vote cast but how it can be possible when the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ alliance of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have cast based votes more than 55 per cent of total votes.

“In Bihar also most of the news channels showed that BJP and JD (U) will get most of the seats but the result will be completely different the Grand Alliance will get around 20 seats. In Jharkhand the Grand Alliance will get 8 to 10 seats out of total 14 seats but the exit poll had shown that BJP will manage 10 or more than 10 seats,” said Yadav.

Speaking on the issue BSP MLA from Hussainabad, Kushwaha Shivpujan Mehta said, “I can’t say something on this issue but one thing is clear that if exit poll is real then what is requirement of poll counting BJP should form government only on the basis of exit polls. I am saying about some particular seats from adjoining areas of the State that in Bihar, from Aurangabad seat, exit poll showed that BJP will win but I am sure that BJP will bite the dust by more than One lakh votes there,” he added.
