Small retailers openly sell crackers violating Ranchi admin orders

Published on:

Despite the instrcutions by the district administration a week ago on sale of crackers and other fireworks from safety perspective, complete infringement of set norms can be seen along the roads in State capital. Even after demarcating five places for cracker retailers to sale their products, cracker sellers have encroached narrow lanes in the city and are selling the products recklessly putting lives and property at stake.

The Ranchi district administration had demarcated five major open spaces or grounds for the sale of crackers. looking at the sensitive areas and to prevent any untoward incidents, the decision has been issued few days back in public interest. The five major firework selling destinations are away from the busiest stretch or any residential areas of the State capital.

The administration had clearly stated that  if any seller is found breaching the set norms immediate action will be taken against the offenders. If crackers are found scattered outside the shops along the roadside, strict action under Arms Act must be taken to ensure public and property safety, regardless of anything.

According to the guidelines issued by the district administration, crackers must be sold out here at Zila School Ground, Jaipal Singh Stadium, Harmu Ground, Morabadi Maidan and Shaheed Ground only.

As per the guidelines, sale of crackers is completely banned in residential areas, streets and footpaths. Crackers sale or any fire work at major areas along roadside increases the chance of mishaps and administration must act sternly on these people.

“Arm Magistrates are keeping a tab on every such activity. Those breaching the norms will be fined accordingly as per the law. However, all the traders who all are issuing the license have been instructed to be vigilant and issue the license carefully after receiving all the details. If anyone found breaching the norms, his retail license will be cancelled with immediate effect,” said, Ranchi DC, Manoj Kumar.

Alternatively, in the fear of losing their loyal customers and to earn maximum profit in the peak season, maximum small entrepreneurs put up their temporary retail outlets at major routes irrespective of anything and without a fear of administration.
