Six members of a business family were found dead in the Bodom Bazar area of Hazaribag on Sunday. As per reports coming in, three persons were found hanging in different rooms of two flats of an apartment while two children - a girl and a boy - were seen lying on the bed and floor. The sixth person is suspected to have jumped off from the four-storey apartment.

Police officials said the deceased include two men, two women and two children and are reported to have committed suicide due to business related financial pressure. Those dead have been identified as Naresh Agrawal (40), his father Mahavir Maheshwari (70), mother Kiran Agrawal (65), wife Priti Agrawal (38), daughter Anvi Agrawal (6) and son Aman (8).

"Investigations are on to get into the details but it seems that the members have committed a planned suicide. We have also recovered suicide notes from the room citing the ways the members were to end their lives," said Hazaribagh SP Mayur Patel Kanhaiya lal.

It is believed that after ensuring hanging of his parents and killing of his children, one by slitting throat and another by poisoning, Naresh Agrwal, the businessman running a dry fruit shop, jumped off his third floor flat since his body was found lying on the road beneath on the Sunday morning.

"We have found four suicide notes written with red ink from the third floor of the apartment near Khajanchi Pond. The old age couple may have hanged themselves, while Priti supposedly was strangulated to death," said the SP. One of the suicide notes depicting about the reason behind the drastic step reads "disease + shop closed + debt + bad name + loan + tension = death." Also that son Aman could not be hanged and thus he was killed.

It is learnt that Naresh Maheshwari was the only earning member of the family and was into debt running into several lakhs due to non-payment against the supplies he had made. Even his flats were on the verge of being sold to repay the loans he had taken from market.
