“Besides getting major leads through the recently launched Pratibimb Web Portal of Jharkhand Police, the district police had secret information through other sources in this regard. As per the information revealed by our sources, a group of cyber criminals were indulged in pursuing their criminal acts from somewhere in a remote location across the Panchatand village of Ahilyapur. Soon after getting information, a team of police personnel led by the Cyber DSP, Sandeep Suman, visited the suspected location and nabbed all the six cybercriminals on the spot”, Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar Sharma said.
“While, confessing their crimes, the accused revealed that they often used to term themselves as a bank official to fool innocent people. Terming themselves as bank authority helped them get passwords or other bank details from their prey”, Sharma told the Pioneer.
“All the accused have separate criminal antecedents related to cyber crime. They used varied locations to commit crime”, Cyber DSP Sandeep Suman said.
