Taking swift action following abduction of the driver of Jharkhand CM’s Press Advisor Yogesh Kislay by some unidentified persons from posh Ashok Nagar Area on late Wednesday night, Ranchi Police has formed a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to look into the matter. According to police, the SIT will also look into the reasons behind the abduction of the driver and loot of the vehicle.

The driver of Kislay was abducted by five unidentified persons from Ashok Nagar area before they took away the car after letting the driver off on Ranchi-Jamshedpur Road. An FIR has been registered and an alert was sounded soon after the incident on Wednesday evening.

“The SIT formed under the leadership of City SP for the purpose will also look into the details of the possible reasons behind the incidents of abduction and loot,” said Ranchi SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi. The SSP, however, added that prima facie, it did not appear to be straight forward case.

The SSP further added that SPs of all the districts have been alerted and raids are also being conducted in the bordering areas of the neighbouring districts.

“It is still to be established whether the target was – Yogesh Kislay or driver of the vehicle,” Dwivedi said. He, however, denied having any involvement of the driver in the whole episode.

According to the SSP, the SIT formed in this regard will look into the case through technical angle. “As of now, it appears to be a deed of a professional gang which had earlier been arrested from Jamshedpur in the year 2012 who preferred to loot only high profile vehicles,” said the SSP.

Meanwhile, City SP Kaushal Kishore has started investigations. “The SIT has started doing its job and several raids are being conducted in the neighbouring districts to trace out the vehicle,” said the City SP.

In the FIR registered with Argora police station, the driver said the abductors had told him that he was being kidnapped as they had asked for an extortion of `1 crore from Kislay, which he had not given till date. Kislay, however, told the police that nobody had demanded money from him.

According to driver Jitendra Munda, he was behind the wheel when four-five persons intercepted the vehicle near his home in Ashok Nagar. The driver had taken the vehicle, to his home for some purpose. All of a sudden, some unidentified persons intercepted the car at gunpoint and got in. They then took the vehicle towards Doranda before forcing him out and fleeing. The place where the accused forced the driver out of the vehicle was nearly 5 km from where the car was hijacked.
